Happy 2009! We were so lucky to spend the 31st through the 3rd in Seaside OR with friends. Becky and Kyle, Nikki and Rob, Jania and Tony, Del and Holly, and Jason and Missy -and of course Willy and Ponch. Here is a shot of our house right on the walkway to seaside. It was great to be able to be a minute from the ocean and 10 minutes from downtown. We saw snow, rain, sun, and wind. There is something so wonderful about the ocean at winter (I must really be a true Northwesterner at heart!).
Kate loved to spend time in the window looking out at the ocean (wawa), waving to all the people walking by, and just supervising everyone.
Here she is watching the dough rise for meat pies (I did catch her sneaking some dough).
The meat pie crew! They turned out really great thanks to our team. YUMMY. I can't wait for next New Years.

A morning walk on the beach
Last New Years Kate wanted nothing to do with the ocean - I think she is liking it a bit more now.
You can see the pink on the beach and on the hillside in the picture below - which is the sun coming up. It had snowed the night before. The combo of the sun rise and the light dusting of snow everywhere was beautiful.
